Hyaluronic acid is the reference totally resorbable product used to fill, repulp or give volume to regions where it is lacking: planes, hollows, folds and lines. It is a product that occurs naturally in the skin and gives it its flexibility, elasticity and tone. Unlike botulinum toxin, it does not act on the muscles and its action is limited to adding volume and moisture. The results are immediately visible. The most common areas of application are the dark rings under the eyes, lines, the volumes and contour of the upper lip, the nasolabial fold and the bitterness fold, the corner of the mouth, the volume of the cheekbone and of the cheek, the back of the hand in the event of protruding ridges. Depending on the area of treatment, the product is injected with or without anaesthetising cream and side-effects are limited to slight redness and, exceptionally, small bruises or swelling of the treated areas. Its use is prohibited in regions where non resorbable injectable filling products have already been injected. There is no prior test. Its origin is biosynthetic. The result lasts for 6 to 18 months according to the product and its localisation.
